This is a strong gift for a music-first commuter, student or office listener who wants days between charges and several ways to connect. It is a weaker choice for someone who flies constantly and wants the strongest low-rumble cancellation, takes calls in noisy rooms, exercises in headphones or simply wants the latest model. Do not pay near-new-generation money for it.

Three checks prevent the wrong gift
- Generation: the listing should explicitly say MOMENTUM 4 Wireless. It is the 2022 generation, not the newer Momentum 5 or the smaller Accentum line.
- Price: compare the final Canadian price with Momentum 5 and current Sony or Bose offers. Momentum 4 earns its recommendation through savings.
- Use: there is no IP rating and the over-ear fit can move during exercise. Treat it as a home, office and travel headphone—not sports equipment.
- Codec support: aptX and aptX Adaptive require a compatible source. iPhone uses AAC, while USB-C or the supplied analogue cable covers wired listening.

Is 60 hours realistic?
It is a manufacturer maximum, so volume and use affect it. SoundGuys measured 56 hours 21 minutes with ANC in its test, while RTINGS measured more than 60 hours—exceptional either way.
Can it connect to two devices?
Yes. It supports Bluetooth multipoint with up to two simultaneous device connections, useful for moving between a phone and computer.
Does it work when the battery is empty?
Yes, the manual supports passive listening with the analogue cable when the rechargeable battery is exhausted. ANC and powered features will not operate in that state.
Is it good for flights?
Yes for comfort, endurance and the included airplane adapter. Its ANC is good, but independent tests find deep engine-rumble reduction behind the best Bose and Sony options.
Should I buy Momentum 4 after Momentum 5 launched?
Only when the older model is meaningfully cheaper. Momentum 4 remains capable; its age should create value, not be hidden by a listing that charges near-current pricing.
