RS50 occupies a useful middle ground between entry Logitech wheels and the 11 Nm Pro system. Eight newton-metres, Trueforce detail, a solid quick-release hub and console-specific controls give a PlayStation racer room to improve without immediately replacing the base. It makes sense when the recipient already owns compatible pedals or the gift includes them. It is not the right surprise for Xbox, a fragile desk, casual arcade play or a buyer assuming ‘System’ means wheel, base and pedals.
