What to check before buying Beats Pill

Confirm the current USB-C Beats Pill introduced in 2024—not an older Pill, Pill+ or a listing that uses photos from multiple generations. Verify colour, condition, seller and warranty.
Apple's up-to-24-hour figure comes from controlled testing at 50-percent volume with specified AAC music and a paired iPhone 15 Pro. Volume, source, environment, calls, USB audio, battery age and Charge Out can change runtime.
The box should contain the speaker, removable lanyard, USB-C-to-USB-C cable, Quick Start Guide and warranty card. Beats says the USB-C power adapter is sold separately; confirm the marketplace bundle has not changed.
One-touch pairing and device-finding features require compatible Apple or Android hardware, current operating-system software and the relevant iCloud or Google Play Services setup. Basic Bluetooth pairing is separate from those ecosystem extras.
USB-C lossless playback requires compatible hardware, supported apps or services and lossless content. Follow Apple's connection steps and select the Pill as the audio output; a USB-C cable alone does not make every source compatible.
IP67 was measured under controlled conditions and can decrease with wear. Apple says the Pill is water-resistant, not waterproof: do not intentionally submerge it or expose it to pressurized water, pool water, salt water, soap, sunscreen or similar liquids.

Can it really charge a phone?

Yes, Charge Out can power another USB-C device with the included cable, using the Pill's battery. If power flows in the wrong direction, Apple documents a three-press power-button step to switch direction; device compatibility and charging speed can vary.

Can two of them play in stereo?

Yes. Two matching current Beats Pill speakers can use Amplify Mode to play together or Stereo Mode to assign dedicated left and right channels. Do not assume a current Pill will form that group with an older Pill+.

Is it safe by the pool?

Treat it as water-resistant, not waterproof. Apple specifically says to avoid pool water and intentional submersion. Keep it back from the edge, and do not charge or connect USB-C until it is completely dry.
